After two years of succesfully beating the odds in the field, the KICKBALL TEAM of UIC-ITE still is battling it out this year’s intramural league. The team mainly comprised of the BSCS - 4 beauties (count me in…) and 5 novice. Just today, the team had beaten the PharmChem Program in the second inning.
The Pharmchem was zeroed in the first inning, without even managing to make it to the first base, as the fielders caught their fly balls without much difficulty. Lajera (ITE’s short stop), the first ITE Kicker, was able to save the second base after her kick. Perocho (ITE’s Third Base In) didn’t able to make it, but Abueva (ITE’s First Base In) made it to the first base, with Lajera making a run to earn a point.
After being zeroed in the First Inning, the PharmChem struggled to get a point in the next round, but sad to say, Potestas (ITE’s Capt.Ball and Pitcher), managed to get a 1-point lead with her home run, enabling the ITE to make it to the Finals.
Much to the disappointment of many, they were not able to watch a very exciting show of kicking some ass. Maybe, because the team wants to end it early, and taking advantage of the opponents’ fear was not much a difficulty.
The leadership of Potestas strucked many, as she made a very rush decision in the last minute before the game, much to the surprise of our coach. The fear of the opponent would work in our advantage. We were instructed to perform a simulation of PharmChem’s defense for their first kick. The intimidation was set and the momentum heightened to its peak as the whole defense team returned to the kind of play they were trained with, leaving the PharmChem confused and shocked.
The championship will be tomorrow. Wish us luck…
THE BALL IS MINE..
