Need For Speed Carbon

I was never a fan of computer gaming until I finally learned to play CS. Thanks to the dudes who brought me to the netcafe and who showed what it was like to shoot and kill villains. I happened to be the one and only wallflower in a bunch of seven guys, so it would never be a question why I’m learning to play pool or basketball - aside from CS.

This morning, I, with Mark, went to Manoy’s place to hang out and wait for our afternoon classes. I was very interested to learn the race he’s playing. And so, after all my persistence, the guys decided to teach me how. I am a fan of car races in arcades, but never tried Need for Speed Carbon. The next moment they were screaming at me because I was driving like crazy. I ain’t used to the controls yet. Hahaha.. Where could you possibly see fifteen fingers working on one keyboard? (more…)

Flower For Every Girl

It was just last week when a friend asked me what my favorite flower is. (Just the usual white roses.) And it was just yesterday when my classmate was carrying a big bouquet of those white flowers. I couldn’t believe it when I learned that the person who gave it to her was the same person who asked me a week ago.

This morning, I found the girl and that person seating so close, busy talking. After a couple of minutes, he called me and asked the same question. It really baffled me when I learned he’s planning to give a big bouquet of flowers to every girl that’s close to him. Just last semester, he gave a bouquet of tulips to another girl, a bouquet to another, too. And he’s even planning to give me one soon.

First Day “Busy-Ness”

It was 6:00 am when I rose from my bed. I had to endure my morning sickness (of being lazy to get up, and shrug the sleepiness away). Today is just October 27, 2008, a beautiful Monday. And I thought I have to hurry my way to the bathroom since today is our first day of classes. My first class is 7:30 am. Barely have an hour to laze around. But I supposed "UIC ra ang gatikaw-tikaw karon sa Davao", so I stepped out of the house by seven assuming that 30 minutes will be enough for travel.

Much to my dismay, my 7:30am class turned out to be a mistake. The class will be at 7:30 in the evening yet. SIGH! I hate it when I have evening classes. I spent a couple of hours in the dean’s office, enjoying a chit chat with our dean. Having checked my grades in his PC, I thought my first semester this year wasn’t so bad after all. Guess what, I lacked only two points in my grade in Project Design to make it to the First Honor’s List. Darn!!!!

Dropin’ By..

After a dreading week of review, we finally did our exams last Sunday. And much to my disappointment, I am already assuming I might not make it to the list because some of the items involve Accounting. And guess what, that subject was the least of my priorities during my last week’s review. (more…)

The Inevitable

Two days more and I’ll have to face the day I’ve been dreading for - the Philnits FE Exams. And I guess, I just have to sweat it out in my last minute reviews. Still have to memorize all tha formulas in the book.  I have a lot of reviewers to work on for the exams, and I barely have two days to do that.

I really hate the networking stuff, I barely have any idea at all.  Maybe because I haven’t tried it.

I don’t want this to be the first exam I’ll fail in history. Whaaa..

Whew! Have to go home. i still have a full night of review.

God help us all.

Is There Something Good Today?

Hey! I remembered the line I wrote way back November in my other blog last year. It was "I turned out to be the next dragon Hercules will surely be challenged to try in battle". And I guess I want to say that line again.

I am simply infuriated today, and mind you, I am still in my most composed state. I am currently at the peak of my patience which is actually wearing thin by every passing minute. And as much as I want to shout my lungs out to release these negative energies in me, I simply won’t do that.

What I’m gonna do? I’ll simply put my mind at work and start getting things done. I’m feeling quite hungry, but I wouldn’t mind starving my self for the sake of getting rid of my anxiety. I’m not gonna kill my self anyway. Still have a lot of things to do, but it seems that my day is not working the way I want it to.

Shout out to the world out there!!! As if he’ll hear me.. So be it..

My Stranger in the Dark

This is the first ever short story I’ve written in my whole life. This was published in ROOTS - the official university folio of UIC. This was written at midnight when I was bored doing school stuff. hehehe.. Here goes…

Stranger in the Dark

(A Beginning to the Prologue, Part I)

The rain was falling heavily on my umbrella. I promised to be there by five in the afternoon. Whether I’ll get soaked or I’ll manage to keep dry, I just have to be there. You might be waiting for endless hours already. Our project is due tomorrow and we’ve got lots to finish before evening invades the light – or otherwise, I’ll let momma nag me for coming home late again.

You opened the door for me, and teased me for coming five minutes late. As you handed me a rag for my wet feet, I wondered what’s going on in your mind, behind those snickers and stares that seem to creep down into my soul. Before I could even take my seat in the edge of your bed, lights went out, and I had no choice but to wait until electricity comes back and we can do what I came for.
